Lightwalkers

Book One

Downlanders are superstitious about Lightwalkers. Even more suspicious of the hollowed, people with deadened limbs from contact with “shadow creatures.” The shadow creatures are amorphous shadows that live in darkness. If they touch you for a second, whatever they touch “dies.” If they touch you for longer, you die.

Acantha is a downlander with a hollow eye, and the people of her village barely tolerate her presence. When she accidentally spies her local priest heading into the forest at sunset, suddenly she finds the village turned against her.

Athan is a Lightwalker. He would have kept riding, except that one of his company is gravely injured. Desperate, he heads into the nearest downlander village to find a healer. Instead, he finds Acantha.

Homeless, orphaned, and with a younger brother to care for, Acantha agrees to travel with these mysterious Lightwalkers, but not forever. Can she find a place to start over with her brother? Can she discover a place where even a hollowed girl can be accepted?

Rabbit-Trapped
Native Legends Book One

Meet Asher Price, a.k.a. Ash. He lives with his step-mother (possibly evil), step-brothers Gerald (not evil, but not very nice, either) and Elliot (definitely evil). He doesn't sleep next to a fireplace, but he does live in a shed in the backyard. A very nice shed, but still a shed. Ash knows he's a modern-day Cinder...fella... but he's about to learn that his way out of this life comes from an entirely different fairy tale.

Meet Neveah Winters. She knows she's not actually Rapunzel, but she's pretty close. She keeps her hair short, because frankly, having strangers climb up your hair sounds like a terrible way to meet people. Neveah is about to learn that her father isn't the nice, but overprotective businessman she's always thought he was. There is no prince coming to save her, either. She's going to have to climb out of her balcony herself.

There is no fairy godmother, but there is a talking cat. And that cat has a lot to say. Come along and help Ash and Neveah figure out which story they're in while dodging Ash's evil step-brother. There's no pumpkin-turned carriage, but Ash has an old pick-up and for a couple of teenagers in rural Arkansas, that truck is going to have to be enough!

The Thrown-Away Son
Native Legends Book Two

Who is Darren Foster?

Darren and his mother Diana are new in town. They keep to themselves, following the same routine day in and day out. Darren has no friends, no social life, and no idea who he is or where he and his mother came from. He only knows she’s hiding something.

Alicia works for her local library and, with the help of her cousin Tyler, takes care of their aging grandfather. When the strange, new boy in town comes into the library with his mysterious mother, Alicia is curious. When he decides to take a job at the library, she becomes more intrigued.

When Darren begins hearing a voice in his head, it becomes more and more clear that Diana is hiding the truth from him. With the voice in his head growing louder, Darren turns to his one and only friend. Alicia and Darren together discover not only who he is but what.

Inspired by the legends of the Creek Nation, The Thrown-Away Son is the thrilling second book in the Native Legends Series.

Twisted Hearts
Native Legends Book Three

Ash’s life is finally going right. He is no longer working for his (evil?) stepmother. He is no longer trapped behind the county borders. Things are going great with his new girlfriend, Neveah. Together they plan to live normal lives, and move on from the horrors of a year ago. But on a night meant to be magical, prom night, everything becomes a nightmare instead. Elliot is back, and the stakes are at an all time high.

Alicia is on the way to face Darren’s other half, known as Elliot. She faced him once before and failed. Catastrophically. She paid the price for that failure, too, with the loss of her eye. Now that she’s lost her eye and her confidence, can she face him and put an end to him once and for all?

Darren knows who he is now, and that’s the problem. Very soon he will have to face all the faces of a past he had no control over. Many of those people are going to be mad for what Elliot did while they shared a body, some of them may even want to kill him. Despite this, he’s going to have to convince them that it wasn’t him, and even harder, convince them to help him. Elliot, who did do those terrible things, is loose and running wild. Can he get there in time to stop his other half from doing even more damage?

Inspired by folktales from the Creek Nation, Twisted Hearts is the exciting conclusion to the Native Legends series.
